Re: OGL and Symbaroum mechanics

But with FL workshop I can only write and publish material for the Symbaroum setting? Isn’t it?

OGL and Symbaroum mechanics

Hi all,
the YZE is a great engine and with OGL and the Free League program there are infinity possibilities for everyone.
But I’m interested in using the mechanics at the Symbaroum RPG base, even for commercial purpose.
Is it possible? Is there a license to use it?

Re: Other Settings

I also have some docs on mass combat, custom mishap tables for defilers and psions, and a bastiary with around 40-50 D&D monsters, although those last few aren;t in the docs share because I don't want my players to see them :-) Also, any chance you'd share those monster docs with others who aren't ...

Re: Other Settings

I've done extensive work for running Dark Sun in the Forbidden Lands setting. Lots of documents available at: https://1drv.ms/f/s!ArMRWhb_Dxr2iJMZp8MPk6UPIj6iDw (password is "samara"). There's a psionics class and psionic talents, an elemental cleric class with it's own 3 spell paths (27 spells), D...

Re: Alternative Pushing Roll methods?

I have to try this:
each character has two Damage tracks (Coriolis type, one physical and one mental).
When push the roll, all ones are damage taken on a damage track, based on the attribute used (strength / agility physical damage, Wits / Empathy stress damage).

Re: Alternative Pushing Roll methods?

The OGL rules is very generic. The rules in it comes from various sources in the Year Zero family. Mutant Year Zero (the mother of all Year Zero games) is set in an apocalyptic world, in that world it is quite logic that things break. Alien is set in a futuristic world and not apocalyptic and in th...

Re: Alternative Pushing Roll methods?

I think you might be in over your head there. The pushing mechanic and the differently coloured dice accomplished several things: Adds risk to the roll Adds a second chance to get a success Shows what gets a Bane (attribute/skill/gear/magic) For self-harm or damaged gear purposes You want to do the...

Re: Alternative Pushing Roll methods?

Alien's system isn't bad, like all Free League games, it's a great job!
Bit I'd like to try not to copy the other mechanics, if not the basic one.

Alternative Pushing Roll methods?

I would like to use the Year Zero Engine for a Sci-fi setting, but I would like to simplify the dice roll to a single pool, as in Coriolis, without having to differentiate the dice by color.
But I don't think of an alternative mechanic to make push roll a risk.
Do you have any advice?

Re: Mutant YZ in an other planet?

Mmh, I should wait for this expansion to see if I can integrate my idea.
Do you know when it will come out?
