I drop a coin quality. If something would cost 15gp, resale might be 15sp, assuming anyone wants it at all.

A rule of thumb might be that used equipment can be sold for a quality of coin less. A bow that costs 10 GP might have a resale value of 10 SP. I’m increasingly leaning away from this though. I dislike assigning DC with a passion.

If something is trivial we don’t roll. If it’s difficult, we roll. The game has clear rules that give boons and banes. The GM is free to be entirely impartial on this. It is a great luxury, I recommend to enjoy it.

Make a challenge explicit to the players. If they are undertaking something, you can dangle a heroic ability in front of them explicitly if they find a way to complete your challenge. You can even get creative with it, “solve x crisis without using violence”, etc. That shouldn’t be the only way they...

I think the problem is more “theory” than play-based.

Shields have a use. Some characters will find them more useful than others, like musical instruments. Some won’t take them, that’s fine.

Rules for seasons? I assume you mean that food in the wild is scarce in winter and similar minor rules and not major rules for resting periods etc like in The One Ring? Yeah, that’s what I’m referring to, the variations in foraging. One might also require more checks for cold in winter, less light,...

I was thinking of incorporating some of the seasonal effects from Runequests adventuring year or Pendragons winter phase.
