Homebrew Career: Whistleblower

So this is completely unofficial, off of the top of my head homebrew career. Think of it as an investigative journalist in a world where most of the conspiracies are real, trying to get the information out there. In all likelihood in the Aliens universe this career would probably be a super fast way...

Re: Converting Internal Modules?

You can always fit a smaller module into a bigger slot, but combining small slots for bigger ones is a bit tricky. For example a G Class ship has 7 Size I modules. If you traded 5 of them in for 1 Size V module, you could potentially fit a Size V Galley that serves 2500 people onto a 50 meter ship, ...

Re: How much do Weyland-Yutani know?

Yes, never underestimate a greedy corporate executive when it comes down to securing the exclusive rights to some bioweapons tech. Weyland Yutani might have the entire truth of the Xenomorphs but because everyone wants their cut of the profits the information is massively compartmentalised. Its a fu...

Re: Docking umbilical

In my head the smaller C and G class ships have a collapsible wire frame with a space!rubber (or something more appropriate) tubing, mechanically locked to the ships airlock and the option of maglock or mechanical lock at the extending end to make a hard seal. Obviously the umbilical will be lacking...

Re: Borrowing from Coriolis..

I think in cinematic mode as is works well but in campaign mode not so much. If the intent was to be so dang lethal then they should state each player needs to make several characters as your first one may die soon. Most of my players are younger and have only played D&D 5E or the little bit of Sta...

Re: Borrowing from Coriolis..

I've been pondering about using the health rules from Coriolis in the Alien RPG Campaign play myself, it does cause a bit of a conundrum. On one hand, as far as I can tell, it does little to reduce the lethality of the Xenomorphs. Most of their signature attacks, the deadly ones at least, trigger if...

Re: Love the work put into this

Yeah, I understand I just wish the more "out there" Alien types were separate from the more believable ones. As to me, the number of variants the old EU came up with was beyond ridiculous. Oh yes, it got a bit bonkers with the extended universe stuff no doubt. :) They stopped short of Badger Xenomo...

Old/Unreliable Ships House Rule?

Obviously most ships in the Alien Universe have some wear and tear on them and rarely do you see a pristine ship. I was thinking of applying a varying percentage discount to the total cost of a ship if it had a lot of mileage on the clock, or if its manufacturers have taken a few shortcuts with its...

Re: Love the work put into this

What I love about this book is that they've taken influences from all the Canon sources and as far as I can tell there is a sprinkling from some of the older extended universe novels and some of the older computer games. Royal Jelly was a major commodity in the comics and novels and is even mentione...

Re: Authority Talent for Colonial Marshals

If you take that talent, then you probably don't spend any of your starting skill points on Manipulation, but instead you spend one on Command and then when you get experience you can spend them on Command, which he also can use to Manipulation. He might start with only one Skill Level, but in the ...
