Re: Combat examples list?

One example I noticed was with some streamed playthroughs where they interpreted the rules that when you roll a 1 on stress dice it meant you automatically failed an action. Whereas others have interpreted it doesn't mean automatic failure, but you need to panic roll and that result will determine ...

Re: Combat examples list?

How do you mean combat examples? From a complexity stand point the Alien rpg is much simpler than running D&D combat. In D&D you have all the classes with their features and magic to deal with that can do all kinds of bonkers stuff. By comparison the Alien rpg is much more toned down. Human vs Human...

Re: Any tips for Campaign Play?

While I'm not a fan of the throwing tons of xp at my players xp system otherwise the system works well enough for normal RP. I mean the main book supports campaign play as its just the rules to play. Most of the Cinematics break or add stuff that is mostly unique to that situation while the main bo...

Re: Alien attributes: stamina for decompression rules

I tend to agree, but that's only half of the problem. The other half is that the rules for Explosive Decompression suggest the rapid gust of air leaving the room can push people around and cause them to lose their actions on a failed Stamina roll. Considering we see more than one Xenomorphic sucked...

Re: Alien attributes: stamina for decompression rules

Admittedly not got the rulebook to hand, but perhaps it was never given because Xenomorphs and Neomorphs aren't affected by vacuum?

Re: Guidelines for awarding XP...?

Only had fatalities in cinematic flashbacks, the actual core players have all survived so far. Had one or two people end up broken and at risk of death, including one character who now has a busted kidney.

Re: Guidelines for awarding XP...?

yes because they cant spend it lol. theres no way to spend less than 5xp in the alien rpg. How odd, I've never known players have that gripe before. Well, all groups are different and you've just got to roll with it. For me my players are happy to work towards things, which doesn't mean getting som...

Re: Guidelines for awarding XP...?

not sure I like the idea of handing out XP in increments other than 5 though because with increments other than 5 players end up having leftover xp they cant spend. it kindve cheapens the XP reward if you have to wait a bunch of sessions to hit a number divisible by 5 to finally spend all your XP N...

Re: Is it possible to keep panicking nonstop?

im not fine with it mainly because it costs $20. which literally makes it something you can buy at any store and stockpile in huge quantities. and you cant really stop your players from doing that if you go by the rules in the book. because youll have a hell of a time explaining why something that ...
