Re: Swarm Treat

Ok, taking your example, you're starting with a Size 4 Swarm at Threat Level 4 (which implies a hundred walkers are closing in on your characters...) This sets the Swarm Threat at 8. In the first Round, your players are going to have to get at least 8 Successes between them to Win The Round. If they...

Re: KIA and vid-phon

I actually think the KIA could take a VidPhon call, in the way that I'm with a different provider, but I can call my mates on EE and Three. This is largely an assumption based on stuff in the rpg and watching the movies, but the Wallace Data Network and VidPhon are two different networks, with WDN s...

Re: Relationship Table p158 missing results

Hi greggentoo, maybe you misunderstood the table? The results are there on the table in my (printed) book - but they are just a list of relationship types. The idea is that you create a relationship diagram (like the one at the top of p.158) with your PC and the other 5 survivors, then add two or mo...

Re: Looking for Ost-in-Edhil

Its pretty easy to slate Rings Of Power, it doesn't really deserve the level of hate and bile it gets, but it does a lot of things very wrong, even allowing for time compression etc- the Elves don't really feel Elvish and the less said about "The Stranger" storyline the better, for just tw...

Re: Looking for Ost-in-Edhil

The old MERP supplement "Lorien & the Halls of the Elven Smiths" has a detailed look at Ost-In-Edhil, both at its height in the Second Age (with Galadriel, Anatar and Celebrimbor present) and as ruins in the Third Age. It has a map of the city and good overview of the Mirdain (the Elve...

Re: Roll to detect LIES

For player characters: The Sensitive Talent lets you use Wits + Scout to learn what another person feels and intends to do. Otherwise I'd say its an opposed roll, Empathy + Manipulation from the person lying, and you can either oppose it with Wits + Scout or Empathy + Manipulation yourself. For NPCs...

Re: NPC - SINGLE WALKER ATTACKS

Walkers are handled differently to living opponents, they don't have stats or anything, so you don't do combat in the conventional way when they're involved. If you attack one (or are attacked by one) and its not a Swarm situation, its just a straight roll for the Player, using whichever skill is ap...

Re: Duels - damage

Not really, there are basically two types of Combat in the game (three if you count the Fighting The Dead system). Duels are one on one and just uses opposed rolls. Brawls are based on action phases and are either opposed rolls or a straight roll, depending who is doing what to who. PCs kinda get th...

Re: XP for new PCs

I don't think you actually can, you can only buy skills and talents. I guess the approach is that skills and talents represent honing your natural, innate abilities through training - so lift a lot of heavy weights, buy up your Force Skill. Do lots of Cardio, buy up your Endure Skill.

Re: Whats this about 2nd Edition rules?

I think the minis support surprised everyone and triggered fears of a major ruleset change, but Tomas said its optional, and maybe they'll end up being a shared resource with another product they have in mind, perhaps a skirmish game or something (or maybe they just like minis!). I haven't really us...
