Re: Prolonged rest and fatigue point restoration

how the official rules are applied regarding prolonged rests and fatigue point recovery You are asking about Fatigue, correct? Because, your reference to-- Page 71 says the company can take a single prolonged rest each day and that the LM may allow the group to take more than one prolonged rest if ...

Re: Olog-hai in Eriador

I am using Olog-hai in one of my 2E campaigns (in Eriador).
It seems that Tolkien mentions them in the Appendices in The Return of the King.

Re: Travelling in the Starter Set

Answering you from memory (not checking the Red Book again now) but I am quite sure that all the Journeys in the starter set's adventures are pre-rolled, and that this is clearly stated in the adventures when there are Journeys. You get info' on who the PCs meet & what happens to them & how ...

Re: Men of Bree

A very subjective and anecdotic answer but-- one player in my campaign chose a Man of Bree, and I do not see any difference between his character and the others (he does not come out as weaker etc.) ; and, as a player, my only character so far is a Hobbit of Bree, which I chose because I preferred t...

Re: Multiple Undead

Could you take as success dice away from the Valour roll if facing multiple Undead? Only the one roll but more impactful.
Thanks!
Your idea/answer is probably the easiest/most logical one to use re. the rules: apply a Complication, of -1 or -2d.

Re: Multiple Undead

I’ve asked about this in the faq/errata. And no specific answer I imagine, given your answer here? Secondly, this can stack to very large shadow gains. I am maxing the possible Shadow gained at 3 (what you get if failing your roll when faced with one Undead). So, I am doing it in a way where you ca...

Multiple Undead

With the Undead being THING(s) OF TERROR, and thus forcing all PCs in sight to make a Shadow test (Dread), I wondered how other Loremasters handle multiple Undead facing your Player-heroes? (one roll for all, multiple rolls?). Unless I am mistaken, I do not see any rule re. this Personally, my choic...

Re: Barrow Wright dreadful spells

My question is this do the characters automatically know they must use sing? Or have they got to make a lore or another skill check to know this also how would it present in play? I directly told the players about having to use Song, without having them make rolls. My logic was that it is already a...

Re: Starter Set adventures too...simple? Childish?

Twee I agree, but I'm actually looking forward to a bit of tomfoolery around the shire. I do not wish to spoil with specifics, but, as I stated above, this mini-campaign might seem to start as tomfoolery around the Shire, but it is quite easy to have the PCs drop. My first attack roll as a 2E Lorem...

Re: Magical success on Healing rolls?

I think you have great answers from Michele and Harlath (at least they help me!). Personally, for magical successes, I will base my ruling heavily on the roll-- be it a healing roll or any other. The mechanic is that Hope is spent before the roll-- and then the roll is an automatic success (similar ...
