Re: Running Spire of Qetzel

This is a really good model for building exciting dungeons. I will probably use it for my version of Wailer's hold, where the adventurers will descend lower and lower into the mine through a landslip. Yes. I believe this will work very well in handling any big scale site where you don’t want to dra...

Re: Running Spire of Qetzel

Quick question, it did FEEL like a maze, right? Like the players had an experience that simulated being stuck in corridors without being sure where they were going or which direction they were heading in? The reason I originally started coming up with this was I wanted to emulate the feel of a maze...

Re: Running Spire of Qetzel

I agree. Also, using the abstract form of a die represent a sense of urgency worked really well when you don't have anything to tie the whole resource management or strict time limit to. I'll tinker with this some more and will be getting back with more lessons learned after next use. When ever that...

Re: Running Spire of Qetzel

So, I've ran the Spire and used your ideas for the labyrinth like parts of the site (the actual labyrinth, the burnt downed town and the garden). It went really well, I believe. Rather than making a lot of intricate labyrinth maps myself I googled a few interesting pictures that suited each part and...

Re: Forbidden Lands RPG: Need Advice For Playing Sorcerer

What Fenhorn said. Since you already got quite a well rounded party, I'd go for exactly what you want to play! Choose kin and personality first or go with the background generator and just build what you want to play. It's more fun to adventure and die as your preference than live like what the othe...

Re: Where would you put the Spire of Quetzel?

I have had a hard time figuring out where to put the Spire since it doesn’t sit well in the low fantasy, gritty, down in the mud campaign I’m currently running. So when one of my players ended up with the dreaded ”66” on the magic mishaps the other day, and the rest of my players wanted to rescue hi...

Re: Pride Roll

Just to clarify. You don’t have to push your roll in order to be allowed to roll for pride. You only need to have failed your roll. But, since you only can roll pride after a failed roll, you forfeit your opportunity to puch, if you choose to roll for pride after your initial skill roll.

Re: Shooting into Melee?

People are also moving in a way the archer can’t predict. I’d give the target cover dice. Any damage blocked by the cover hits the ally. Nice one. I'll have to adopt this. As of now, when my archer wants to shoot past a friend, onto a foe of similar size, I generally rule any successes means the ar...

Re: Abstraction level

There’s also a big differense between having to roll dice to see how many rounds you fire while fireing an automated weapon during a fire fight but then have a good understanding of how much ammo you actually have left afterwards. When you’re got the time to do an ammo count. Before planning to ambu...
