Re: Keeping Watch during Sleep

I'm confused. There seems to be only one result in the camping table that results in an encounter (wild animals). So that's like a 5% chance of an encounter if they mishap. Or are you just going to have more encounters regardless? They can generate a mishap on : lead the way, hunt, fish, forage, ma...

Re: Keeping Watch during Sleep

The way I experienced the game, when they make camp there's usually plenty of opportunities to have an encounter if they get a mishap (it's like a mini encounter). Like you said, I don't what to overwhelmed them with encounters so if a mishap happens I don't roll for encounters (unless I feel like o...

I've a post from a few days ago where I'm trying to integrate taxes and income in the stronghold rules. Check it out!

Re: Backpack house rule

Certain backpacks, a rucksac (with an armature) for example, does help with encumbrance. Obviously, it doesn't reduce the actual weight of an object, but it distribute the load over your body in a more optimal way, enabling you to either transport more or to be less tired by a given load. I think dr...

Re: Stronghold rules hack (simpler)

I did some updates on the rules, mainly tweaking the costs and income. Here's the Google Sheet link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1a_2t6PGdQQZVHLhyzN3Gm6ES10mZuouK3i6IVT_oPug/edit?usp=sharing Also added some instructions on the right side. Under salaries, you get gold/season or alternate n...

Re: Profitable functions in strongholde

I'm working on an alternate set of rules for stronghold to abstract a lot of the bookkeeping. I set an income for each "serf" living in your stronghold as they probably pay taxes or produce, like you mentioned, something you can potentially profit from. I'll post... Someday. Maybe I'll post even if ...

Re: The economics and logistics of Forbidden Lands

You might want to take a look at my stupidly long and bloated post about forbidden land peasants salaires. Might help you determine how much tax a peasant can pay. Historically taxes were about 10% but depended on the period (100 year war would boost taxes for example). Church added taxes on top of ...

You guys are leaving me no choice but organize the Raven Lands' workers into anarcho-syndicalist co-ops.

Re: On the economy of the Raven Lands (or are you paying your laborers too much?)

Currently the system is very abstract to reduce book keeping but if you do want to introduce this level of detail it may push the game into the boundaries of playing a medieval sims game.  Which is neither good or bad, just different from the game Fria Ligan produced. Oh no! On the contrary, I'm wr...

Re: On the economy of the Raven Lands (or are you paying your laborers too much?)

Nice work! I agree with the comments as well but I really appreciate you took your time digging into this. In your opinion, not regarding ”game- economy ” like loot tables, what would the price for plate mail and horses/live stock be to be more historical correct? Without going very deep into compa...
