Re: Parry Movement (p46)

My interpretation is that both move the same. (E.g. you stay locked in melee combat.)

This isn't important for the main rules, but there are some variations in ...

Nice. I've contacted my local game store already to ask if I can run that adventure at a table on Free RPG Day. :-)

Re: What parts do you tell the players?

Some boards have a "like" feature. I would like to hit "like" for a couple of great suggestions in this thread. I will start with page 11 but try to keep things vague at the start, and let them uncover background a little at a time. Only one time to grow that "first impressi...

Re: Familiar

Both of those versions of Familiar look pretty good to me. I'll have to get one of my wizard players to give this a try.

Re: Simple(ish) initiative homebrew

Looks like a fun system, but I have to ask what is your purpose of house ruling initiative? Is it just to keep things quirky? I ask because initiative already has a certain degree of strategy baked into the current rule, and your house rule adds in an extra layer. For example, as a character can use...

Re: Shadow over Gloomshire

Looks like a great adventure and I'm planning on backing it as soon as I can run my family through a session or two to be certain that they will play some Dragonbane over 5E.

Re: Encumbrance of excess weapons? Unworn Armor?

I think that the rules were intentionally left light and a little vague so that a GM could interpret them without a thick rulebook. I would tack on a small encumbrance for each extra item. (Particularly in the case of carrying a set of unworn armor.) While the rules assume that carrying an extra dag...
