Re: Campaign length?

My campaign has run over 70 sessions so far and the players' characters are quite powerful: more than 200 experience points spent per character. At this "level", monsters (if meant to be dangerous) need to be heavily beefed up in encounters - about 2x to 3x more STR than the listed values....

Re: How much in-game time for a campaign?

Raven's Purge: I'm 52 game sessions in, 27 months IRL, 9 months in-game (started at early spring, winter starts next session). We've played The Hollows (GM's Guide), Grindbone, Ravenhole, Stonegarden (they didn't release the beast), The Mists of Moorshire (Per Holmström), Eye of the Rose (wrapping u...

Scarne's story

If you are planning to (or have already) run the adventure site Stonegarden, you know that Scarne's fate as told by the legends is a lie. In your campaign, how did the Mother of Dragons end up imprisioned for 15 centuries deep below the northern mountains, and what was dwarf hero Oramund's motivatio...

Re: WP Farming

Indeed, I usually allow for rolls only when there's something at stake, otherwise the players just succeed whatever they are trying to do (or I let them know that what they're trying is impossible). But then there's the Journeys part of the game, that goes against the "don't roll too often"...

Re: WP Farming

Ah, I see. Do you let your players push failed skill rolls often?

Re: WP Farming

What's your criteria for allowing a push?

WP Farming

Unnecessarily pushing rolls in less than threatening or cheap-to-recover-from situations, with the purpose of filling a character's Willpower Points meter.

Does that happen in your game? Is that a problem to you as a GM? How do you deal with that?

Re: Pushing journey rolls?

@hperantunes: Doesn't the game lose part of its flavor this way? Why not just switch to: you reach your destination after X days if all rolls are considered successful (or just pepper the travel with some encounters)? I like to describe the setting and add little touches to each new hex the group v...

Re: Pushing journey rolls?

I've always let the players roll and push (when pushable) their Journey activities, but as the group got more experienced and skilled these rolls have become almost a waste of session time. Also, since Journey rolls are a major source of WP farming in my game, I've decided to stop rolling these acti...
