Re: Release date?

The final PDF has been released. Check your DTRPG library and download the latest file there. You can ignore the DTRPG listing (which says "beta"), as it definitely has the final PDF. In terms of public release, it should be soon. On Kickstarter, they mention a release date of November in ...

Re: Ranged Combat in Short Range

Indeed, I put engaged in quotes because it's describing a situation like that. This is a narrative system and doesn't attempt to simulate combat like many more traditional games do. However, I would say that if someone is "engaged" with a PC and the player wants to step away, I'd say they'...

Re: Print on Demand Community Content

Print on Demand is not possible - Free League would have to set it up with DTRPG. But it is possible - Chaosium's equivalent to the Workshop allows POD.

As both a Workshop creator and an avid buyer of FLW titles, I would love to see this happen.

Re: Ranged Combat in Short Range

Yeah, close proximity is just a way to say engaged / arms-length / etc. If a PC is not yet "engaged" with someone and wants to shoot them in close range, that's fine - it's a ranged attack handled in Phase 2. But if they miss or don't kill their target, that target can then "engage&qu...

Re: Delaying & Readying actions

Yeah, that sounds good. That's effectively in keeping with the spirit of the mechanic and similar to how we handle it in YZE games with initiative.

Re: Delaying & Readying actions

I should also say, that in other YZE games many Year Zero GMs allow a player to delay an action (despite it not being a specific mechanic) by reducing their intitiative rating from that round onwards. But in TWD, intiative has been replaced with combat rounds and so it doesn't really make sense. Ove...

Re: Delaying & Readying actions

FYI, Overwatch is a combat mechanic in all the Year Zero Engine games. As you suggest, it is both a readying and delaying action, but with a specfic trigger. If the trigger occurs, you interrupt and take the action. If the trigger doesn't occur in that round, you effectively lose your action. Think ...

Re: YZE probabilities of success table

Looks like this was addressed by Tomas - six years ago now! Here's the discussion: https://forum.frialigan.se/viewtopic.php?t=3139#p28110 Good catch, thanks for the reference! Looks like my point wasn't so "moot" after all. ;-) I'd still like to know how they arrived at the probabilities ...

Re: YZE probabilities of success table

The MYZ point is a bit moot, as the probability table has identical probabilities in every dice pool YZE game, including games where the 1s don't mean anything (i.e. Coriolis and Tales From the Loop). It's meant to be a simple visual of the probability of rolling a single 6 without any other factors...
