Re: Influences [Books, TV Shows, Movies, Art]

Oh, excellent. Great choice. I think it's on Netflix right now, too.
Yeah, that's where I watched it. There's a lot of good movies on there right now, so I spent my days off getting nostalgic.

Re: Influences [Books, TV Shows, Movies, Art]

So, this topic is old and it's been awhile since I posted, but in a fit of nostalgia, I watched a lot of movies I enjoyed from my childhood... and came across The Iron Giant . This movie is technically set in the 50s, but the premise still works really well for TftL. Imagine it.. a group of kids fin...

Re: The Loop - construction, facilities and experiments

I would not go so far as to say magic... but psychic powers developed because of exposure to the Loop seems probable. Not something a player character should have, though.

Re: The Loop - construction, facilities and experiments

Going by the Killer Birds mystery, it seems like the Loop isn't always the cause of the crazy random happenings. To what degree would you say the Loop influences what goes on around it like people creating microchips to implant in birds or dinosaurs wandering the countryside. Would there be an insta...

Re: Mixtape: Happy New Year

I agree. We need a place for people to post their Mysteries for others to play and discuss.

Re: Classes

That seems fair. It's easier to see similar types in the same group with one or two other types than all of them be one of each. What about Kids that fall into two types? Is that doable as well? Take Teddy from Stand By Me for instance. He's kind of a Weirdo, but he's also a Troublemaker. If one wer...

Re: The ALPHA PDF - questions, comments, errata

It's an older way of saying it, I think. Kind of like  "days past" instead of "days gone past." English is a weird language, even for us native speakers.

Re: Classes

The book says that there can only be one of each type of kid. Is that a hard rule or is there some wiggle room there? Sure Stand By Me and The Explorers had one of each (more less), but The Goonies and Stranger Things had multiple kids of the same type in them. Is there a significance to only one of...

Re: Influences [Books, TV Shows, Movies, Art]

I will definitely check the link out. I mostly meant in general urban legends vs slasher movie horror for scary Mysteries. I know America has a lot of urban legends, but I'd love to learn more about Swedish urban legends and how they differ and compare.
