Re: My Thoughts on Reading the Vaesen Rulebook

Hullo, Fenhorn, JohnK, you missed the idea with setting. This game is all about solving mysteries in the mythic north, not in the historical north. The book give some basic information about the setting but then it also say: Use what you know, or think you know, about the 19th century, or whatever f...

Hullo, folks, The eleventh, and final, chapter (if it can be called that) of the Vaesen RPG rulebook is the Background Tables. This chapter is actually the alternate life path character creation method (that was mentioned back in Chapter 2) and is a solid chapter with some interesting options, creat...

Re: My Thoughts on Reading the Vaesen Rulebook

Hullo, folks, The tenth chapter of the Vaesen RPG is a scenario called "The Dance of Dreams." Obviously, I'm not going to reveal any details about the adventure itself. "The Dance of Dreams" is an 18-page adventure for the game that shows off some of the system elements well, but doesn't really seem...

Hullo, folks, The ninth chapter of the Vaesen RPG is appropriately enough titled The Mystery. Re: My Thoughts on Reading the Vaesen Rulebook

Hullo, folks, The eighth chapter in the Vaesen RPG rulebook is all about the Vaesen. This is what the game is all about! :) Needless to say, I'm not going to reveal too much about stuff from this chapter... This chapter marks the beginning of the section of the rulebook that players should not be re...

Re: My Thoughts on Reading the Vaesen Rulebook

Hullo, folks, The seventh chapter in the Vaesen RPG rulebook covers the Mythic North and Upsala. This chapter clocks in at a mere 13 pages in length, and provides a bare overview of a few elements of the Mythic North, but leaves a lot to the GM to create and set up. There are some interesting tidbit...

Re: My Thoughts on Reading the Vaesen Rulebook

Hullo, Lem, This chapter is one that has 11 steps to character creation, and is very much along the lines of the Forbidden Lands model rather than that of the Coriolis - The Third Horizon feel of character creation, though it contains elements in common with all the Year Zero engine ga...

Re: My Thoughts on Reading the Vaesen Rulebook

Hullo, folks, One thing I forgot to mention... One of the things that I'm loving about the Vaesen RPG is that the covers and book pages are matte, rather than glossy. The pages aren't too reflective at various angles, and make reading the book soooooooooooo much easier. :) Well done, Fria Ligan! :) ...
