Re: NOSTROMO – the Accurate Deck Plans (IMO, anyway...)

3 or 4 decks!? =D That bridge is supertiny compared to the rest of the ship, and we can see that they haven't exaclty splurged on cealing height ;) https://66.media.tumblr.com/e2cedb97b182cad685c6e26617657665/tumblr_nkkcu0HBhL1slmcluo1_1280.jpg Definatley more than just 3-4 decks. Maybe not quite s...

Re: Treasures. How much to give

It uses the tables in the GM book. However, I find this treasure system quite random. Sometimes it will give you a few rubbish items of little value, and then other times suddenly an art piece worth 100sp. That's part of the fun though, isn't it? =D "I've been through the goblin castle, and all I g...

They burn for just long enough to go out at a dramatic moment.

Re: Treasures. How much to give

Well... if you give them something valuable, but that can't be splitt (like a magical artefact) then you have created "Drama" =)
Just lean back and watch the palyers debate.
And if they decide to make it simply for themsleves and go sell it, then you have the next adventure: finding a buyer.

Re: "Only damaged by Magic" question

I would let magical weapons harm the creature. I've always liked that concept that regular weapons just pass right through it (or bounce of, what ever is appropriate), but that a magical weapon actually connects. Like oldie DnD (didn't like that they changed it to just resistance) or that scene in L...

Re: Dealing w/ Lethality

Lucky is one of those talents that you either have to restrict access to or put an asterisk on I feel.  Lucky* *Taking this talent won't actually give you a better chance to survive, it will only make your comrades die more easily. Goes a bit against the spirit of things, I feel =)  Better to put m...

Re: Arguments in favour of play helping products

I'm for pretty much any type of player/GM-aid, regardless of weather it caters to my particular play style or not.  I think it's great if there is support for multiple different game styles in a game, even if the game itself has a certain focus. And if they are not to specialized, creative GMs can u...

Re: Dealing w/ Lethality

Lucky does wonders for the lethality. 1 level is good for anyone to have. 2 levels makes it very unlikley to die. It can still happen, there's still risk.  Level 3 might sound a bit overpowered at a first look, and I guess it depens on how much acutal combat you run and how dangerous you want that c...

Re: Use shield w/ severed arm

If shields had added armor value, I would have allowed it but halving the bonus.

But it doesn't, it just adds to parying. So I would say no =)

Re: Sidearm mistake/oversight?

Footnote: "M4A3" is the moniker that the "ALIENS: Colonial Marines Technical Manual" seems to attribute to Vasquez's custom S&W 39 (although for some reason, they illustrate it with a line drawing of an M1911A1...). In the book, it is rationalised as an earlier standard sidearm, lately superseded b...
