Re: What is the paper quality of the core rulebook and other supplements?

Game books are technical manuals, not art books. The only reason I despise AD&D2e is this. I should be able to pencil in notes and errata and remove or change them as needed. And then there is black glossy, like Blade Runner, because it's "stylish." That's indelible fingerprints waiti...

Re: What is the paper quality of the core rulebook and other supplements?

I have the Box Set, the hardcover Core Rulebook, and hardcover Path of Glory. The hardcover pages definitely have a less glossy finish, but the paper is thick and robust and I actually prefer it to the glossy paper used in the Box Set Rulebook. Both seem perfectly fine to me though, just an aestheti...

Re: Party Balance

I currently GM a group consisting of a Dwarven Bard, a Halfling Thief, a Human Animalist and a Wolfkin Hunter. There was one fight early on that would have killed them all if they had kept going and not run away, but I think that had more to do with them being new to the system and trying to play it...

https://erebaltor.se/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1736&sid=138e6a268bcdee514664ca20db56e89e links to a bunch of material translated into English for, I guess, the original world setting for Drakar och Demoner. Just scroll down a bit and you'll see about a dozen and a half links to everything from the ...

Re: Damage mitigation using WP

I think it's an interesting idea. I had a character take enough damage in a single blow to reduce him to fully negative health, resulting in instant death, which honestly, isn't fun, for us at least. Maybe using WP in special situations with, as you mentioned, an Heroic Ability could work. I think i...

Re: Playing while GM?

I'm having a little difficulty with the distinctions being made here. Back in the day hirelings were fairly common, and were controlled, more or less, by the GM. NPCs are controlled by the GM, and if you have an NPC that sticks around a little more and a little longer than usual that shouldn't reall...

Re: Treat Wound, Heal Wound, Restoration

Given that there is a finite number of spells you can hold in your mind, and given that it is very difficult and costly to increase your pool of WP points, I think having each successively more powerful spell not increase in WP cost makes sense. The fact that all the lesser spells are prerequisites ...

Yes, I completely agree. I like your first list the most and is likely what I'll be calling them.

Re: 5e Adventure Using Dragonbane

Going back to using 5e adventures with Dragonbane, what is the recommendation in converting treasure and loot from modules? If it is assumed that you get a couple treasure card draws from an adventure (3-5), it seems that Dragonbane is quite stingy with treasure. This especially an concern for me a...
