My playthrough impressions

I played the quickstart with a group at a gaming club over two sessions. I have noted my own observations with the players. We noted several good things and some alarming ones: - The world building is fantastic, which I knew before playing and was the reason I picked it up try. Players loved it in g...

Re: Feedback Thread for Coriolis: The Great Dark Quickstart

Social combat is described as Empathy vs Empathy but it could be useful if it is also sometimes Empathy vs Insight, for example in an intimidation check. The most popular games have roleplayers feeling useful in very different ways with a variety of skills in the most important situations: explorati...

Re: Feedback Thread for Coriolis: The Great Dark Quickstart

And finally, what happens if the party, with few remaining supplies, decides to send one of their own only back for help (or escape in a hopeless situation). Again, the idea of supplies fir a party of 3 vs 4 vs 6 with some splitting is a complicated game, but best if it has some sensible rules. What...

Re: Feedback Thread for Coriolis: The Great Dark Quickstart

P.70 It is better you have a system for writing weapons, armor and equipment. As it stands, the armor is first with the leader and last with the toader crew. This is not intuitive when looking for information in combat, with so many things to think about. These little bits of clarity does the world ...

Re: Feedback Thread for Coriolis: The Great Dark Quickstart

Another point about the frost encased disc is: why do they need to search for it? Shouldn’t it be obvious in a corridor like this? Of course, we don’t know how large it is which is something I pointed out earlier. In all fairness, I do think they will know it is an artifact always as it is frosted, ...

Re: Feedback Thread for Coriolis: The Great Dark Quickstart

If the scan succeeds but the bird scan fails, does that mean I can’t hand out the scanning map? Or will you print two maps for each delve, one with, and one without blight levels? I think perhaps another explanation is better, than the general blight levels of the scan are understood, but the bird h...

Re: Feedback Thread for Coriolis: The Great Dark Quickstart

Very confusing passage page 45. First of all, does armour or rolls protect against the damage types in the table with no supplies left. Damage seems to come from hunger or thirst, so maybe not? But blight? Maybe not since batteries are out. If armor protects against the blight and damage, and insigh...

Re: Feedback Thread for Coriolis: The Great Dark Quickstart

P.41 What about creature immunity to blight? Unimportant in the quickstart, unless you copy paste this stuff to the core rulebook.

Re: Feedback Thread for Coriolis: The Great Dark Quickstart

P. 40 Creatures themselves never wait, but Explorers can switch initiative with one of the creature’s initiative cards.

? Surely a mistake, though I guess in the core rulebook abilities may allow for such an overpowered move, possibly..
