Re: Purge Undead as a permanent solution

It's really not clear why some people don't stay dead, or how this can be weaponised to make them more undead , but I think a rank 2 spell should be pretty special, so I'd say that you do damage against the handwave pool of points that's keeping them undead and angry, and this can only be reversed b...

Re: Blood Channeling limits

Remember that you can voluntarily swap initiative order with a friend, at the start of the round. This is most obvious with Path of the Warcry level 1, which gives "all of your comrades within SHORT range a bonus to all attacks during one round, until it's your turn to act again in the next rou...

Re: Use/interpretation of "Adaptive" (Human Kin Talent)

I played a game where the GM let a character use her Viennese Line Waltz skill in combat. (The moves are the same, except that you end with a stabbing instead of a bow.) This is how I expect to let my human PC use skills.

How and where are the Forbidden Lands?

I've been looking at the Forbidden Lands world map . And I know nothing about weather , so please correct me! But I have some questions. (1) Scale Ravenland is canonically 42 tiles by 50, each tile being 10km across, so I reckon that's 250km North-South and about 350-400km East-West. Looking at the ...

Re: [Changed Title] Discussion about Stanengist

Thanks; that's useful! I mostly bought Bitter Reach because I wanted to make sure that a realm only a few dozen kilometres north of the apparently temperate climate of Ravenland wasn't "naturally" ice and snow all along, and having satisfied myself that (a) thankfully it is indeed canonica...

Who goes mad if they don Stanengist?

Canonically, Zygofer will go insane if he dons Stanengist, as will Zertorme. It's not mentioned what would happen to Therania, Krasylla or Kartorda. Merigall, Kalman Rodenfell and the elves in the crown know that a demon or demon-tainted creature will go mad if it dons the crown. Zytera, Krasylla an...

Re: Theory: turning the previous elf house into Stanengist was what enslaved the orcs, and made demonic incursion possib

Here's when I think the important events need to happen. 825 AS is when Zygofer turns up with a significant army, and the dwarves realise they can't be defeated as easily as in the First Alder War. By 826 AS orcs are mentioned, albeit only on the side of the dwarves; it'll take the Third Alder War i...

Re: What are Gemelda, Neyd and Nebulos even for?

Thank you, that's interesting; I bought Bitter Reach mostly so I could confirm that the sudden snow and ice just north of the Stillmist was in fact magical rather than game writers failing to understand geography and climate (and happily it was!), but I hadn't looked into it too much beyond that. (M...

Re: What are Gemelda, Neyd and Nebulos even for?

Thanks for replying, and I'll gladly use your hints for roleplaying the ancient elves if my players ever talk to the voices in their heads. But my point remains: if you find Stanengist, and realise that it needs at least a net +1 elf rubies to be useful, you have no incentive to take out Gemelda, Ne...

Krasylla's contract

Raven's purge says "Zytera has a contract signed in Krasylla's blood hidden in Zygofer's clothing. The contract prevents Krasylla from harming Zytera." and "In the partially decomposed cloak worn by the old man, Zygofer, is the parchment that holds the contract that binds Krasylla to ...
