Re: do players get XP rewards after ending a adventure

I used to go strictly by XP at the end of the encounter. But I have gradually taken to the milestone system. It is easier to design encounters without worrying about whether there will be too much or too little XP. Now, I create the adventure with as many or as few encounters as I like, and give the...

Re: Elvish Spirit - overthinking it?

After much back and forth with my players and some experience play testing, I came to the conclusion that the whole "no long rest outside a sanctuary" was untenable. I decided that long rests do not occur during the Journey phase, but can occur during the Adventuring phase. The fellowship ...

Re: Distinctive Feautures

Re: Magical Success with Insite

Reading surface thoughts is not the same as deep thoughts or reading memories. At any given time, the target of the Insight may be thinking about food, personal comfort, the weather, relationships, plotting against enemies, any number of things other than what the elf might want to know. It might ev...

Re: Questions about Eye Awareness and Crafts

Precisely. When I LM, during the adventure phase, I will have the fellowship make an exploration check if it is a hex they have never been to. DC based on the border/wild/dark types, usually DC 10/15/20. If they've been there before, I let them find the good spot again with no check. If the circumst...

Re: Questions about Eye Awareness and Crafts

The rules do allow for proper long rests in the wild, so that's on your LM. No rests at all is too grinder for my table.

Re: Questions about Eye Awareness and Crafts

Eye Awareness: it resets during the Fellowship phase. Crafts: Both can be used for Journey saves. But, the craft slots and lore dice used are not recovered until completion of a long rest, which also removes a level of exhaustion, so may not even be necessary. Are your players not resting after the ...

Re: New Loremaster questions (yes, open to everyone)

I don't have the TOR version, but in the LotRR 5e version, Tales of Eriador, this adventure is labelled as 3rd to 5th level. So a minimum of 3rd level for Heroes doing this adventure. How are the TOR version labelled?
