Re: Theory: turning the previous elf house into Stanengist was what enslaved the orcs, and made demonic incursion possib

Lore is always told by the "winners", with lots of propaganda/fake news involved and subjective truth or interpretations. That's a principle you can apply to many (all?) stories in FL, esp. in the Ravenlands. We will hardly know "the" truth, though.

Re: More material about the FL pantheon?

Ah, that's interesting, even though it would not really work/fit in my case. I have the BM material, but haven't read it on purpose yet except for the new magic (as an addition to its mention in the RefP supplement). But it is good to know that there is an "institution" that practices the ...

Re: More material about the FL pantheon?

Thanks a lot for the extensive feedback - I understand the vagueness of the "official" information, and it is good for RPGing that there are no definitive answers. As a player I also assume that the FL gods do not exist at all, and that the Fl religions and cults are primarily constructs t...

More material about the FL pantheon?

Esp. about the Nightwalker? While I appreciate the ambiguity and coarseness of the gods' descriptions in the GM book and how some (like Flow, Clay and Wail) are rather easy to access, I have a hard time getting grip on the Nightwalker and how its (non) worship and influence on everyday life. There's...

Re: Sword fighter and the like

Following the basic rules, dice from Talents stack (e.g. Swotd Fighter Rank 2 grant and extra d6 [Rank 1] and a d8 [Rank 8]); other dice, e .g. from the weapon, are added to that pool, too. At my table, however, and using the Reforged Power expansion and some of its (wise) suggestions, we decided to...

Re: Declared defense = action?

Following the game mechanics' logic a defender does only have to declare a counter-action to an attack if the latter is successful. If the attack misses the defender IMHO does not have to waste a defensive action, or declare something before the attacker rolls any dice. After all, all defensive acti...

That sounds plausible, at least to me. ;-)

Re: Animal companion character sheet

For our group/party of five PCs I have created custom animal "character sheets", because everyone owns a horse, and we have two Hunters and Druid, who have a fox, a small owl, a ferret and an elk (as a riding animal) with them. About 6x4" in size, with a portrait, place for stats and ...

Re: Player Only Quickstart

But if you hold back info, the players won't have as much of a stake in things and may get bored. That's a very important aspect. "Feeding" PCs/players steadily with various bits, esp. from different sources, is quite important to keep the environment "alive" and the players gue...
