Re: Fatigue Reduction

In my experience fatigue just varies depending on the luck of the roll. You'll be fine.

Re: A question on Skill Endeavours

You're missing the fact that each 6 rolled on a success gives you an additional success.

Re: Fledgling Loremaster with questions

I know the corebook has an adventure in it, but about the other products? What adventures are in the boxed Starter Set? The boxed starter set has 5 connected short Shire adventures for a group of pre-generated hobbits sent by Bilbo - in an adventure book. It also has some mini-adventure hooks and e...

Re: Misdeeds, murder and shadow points

You're absolutely right. I was just responding to an idea that seemed to be saying that it would be kind of a ordinary thing that Rangers would think of themselves as "having to" perform misdeeds in order to effectively fight the shadow. That explanation was not about doing misdeeds; it w...

Re: Misdeeds, murder and shadow points

. The Rangers of the North might be resistant to the Shadow by cultural inclination, but they are still fallible Men and would not be incorruptible They can't all be Aragorn even if he represents the ideal.. You're absolutely right. I was just responding to an idea that seemed to be saying that it ...

Re: Misdeeds, murder and shadow points

Aw, com'on! I just had it all figured out. Ok, I agree with this too. [Sigh...] It might not be possible to have this subject nailed down completely before play unfolds. Try to have a solid foundation and build from there I guess. My players will probably just embrace the shadow and become bad guys...

Re: Misdeeds, murder and shadow points

Not only that, but sometimes they are the price of being a hero -- by being the one who goes out to where hard decisions have to be made, the hero is protecting everyone back home not just from orcs but also from the threat of being corrupted by those hard choices. The Rangers who protect the Shire...

Re: Misdeeds, murder and shadow points

On the question of lying, I think I would always give at least one shadow point. Maybe more. It might seem like there is a good reason to withhold the truth. But when you do, you violate the other party's free will. You are deciding FOR them what is best, instead of giving them the truth and lettin...

Re: Misdeeds, murder and shadow points

I think that your example would be considered a misdeed, though a lower form of un-ethical killing. Maybe 3 shadow points would be appropriate. I think the thing for the heroes to do without risking a misdeed, in the case of foes who won't surrender, is to approach them with the warning that they wi...
