Re: Battery drain

Yeah, I like what ominpus is putting out there, though I'm liking the dice tied to usage. End of the day we're not playing an IEEE simulation but trying to capture the use of battery powered tech in an environment where much of the industrial infrastructure that maintained the presumptive reliabilit...

Re: Heart of Darkness release

Has anyone in the US received any word? No. Reminds me I need to get at them about the pdf, there was a error on my part (address typo) which I addressed and they acknowledged, but have yet to fix and it's been a few months. But I'm not aware of U.S. release timetable/ship date either for the box.

Re: Urban Operations

Way I see it is they have Alien stuff going on, One Ring porting over to 5e or whatever they're doing with Middle Earth for 5e going on, and Bladerunner about to drop going on (and Symbarrium seems to be getting love too ... those are three licensed titles that, while I haven't combed KS proceeds, I...

Re: Battery drain

I can't think of any mechanical matters to put in, although I think you're on track with sometimes batteries failing or depleting faster than expected due to dice. I don't know about universal batteries. I honestly don't know anything about battery standards other than what I see in the U.S., there ...

Re: Converting T2K4E to Modern Mercenary Game

If you're doing a truly modern 2020s "modern game" you probably want to check out this thread and others like it about how 1980s perspective on 1990s projected cold war gear would probably have some not inconsiderable changes: https://forum.frialigan.se/viewtopic.php?t=9433 I'd also say T2...

Re: Feats

I don't understand the second question, but as tot he first question re: feats and Ruins of Symbaroum for 5e, the answer is that when a third party, in this case Free League, produces content for 5e, they are not using the PHB as basis but the 5e OGL's System Reference Document, the SRD. The SRD is ...

Re: T2k Support and Publishing Plans

@Ottarus, thanks; and those are cool anecdotes. Yeah I was foggy aware that both Hackett and I think Coyle's books wound up officer reading lists, kinda surprised GDW wasn't on their radar. I thought I had read back then that there was some synergy between the wargaming industry and DoD and affiliat...

Re: What's next (after Colonial Marines Manual)?

Thanks for the more recent info. And oopsie, I just remembered "Building Better Worlds" is actually Weyland-Yutani's slogan, so I'm imagining the book probably shfits from the military and "nation state" power plays in the Colonial Marines book and probably does build the storyli...

Re: T2k Support and Publishing Plans

When T2K originally came out way back in nineteen eight-[mumble], I was an active duty soldier in the US Army. It INSTANTLY replaced all other RPGs in my squadron's geek crew [squadron = battalion, I was in cavalry unit]. It was awesome! We got all the toys and none of the 'stupid shit' our command...
