Re: Feats

I don't understand the second question, but as tot he first question re: feats and Ruins of Symbaroum for 5e, the answer is that when a third party, in this case Free League, produces content for 5e, they are not using the PHB as basis but the 5e OGL's System Reference Document, the SRD. The SRD is ...

Re: Fanmade Cinematic Scenario: A Gift from Heaven

I'm one of those dinosaurs that don't use facebook, so please don't stop posting things like this here. That said, I get a "File Deleted" error message. Could you please re-upload the file? Dinosaur who abandoned Facebook over a decade ago me tooing. Sounds like a pretty cool scenario, an...

Re: T2k Support and Publishing Plans

@Ottarus, thanks; and those are cool anecdotes. Yeah I was foggy aware that both Hackett and I think Coyle's books wound up officer reading lists, kinda surprised GDW wasn't on their radar. I thought I had read back then that there was some synergy between the wargaming industry and DoD and affiliat...

Re: What's next (after Colonial Marines Manual)?

Thanks for the more recent info. And oopsie, I just remembered "Building Better Worlds" is actually Weyland-Yutani's slogan, so I'm imagining the book probably shfits from the military and "nation state" power plays in the Colonial Marines book and probably does build the storyli...

Re: T2k Support and Publishing Plans

When T2K originally came out way back in nineteen eight-[mumble], I was an active duty soldier in the US Army. It INSTANTLY replaced all other RPGs in my squadron's geek crew [squadron = battalion, I was in cavalry unit]. It was awesome! We got all the toys and none of the 'stupid shit' our command...

Re: Alien: Evac Scenario Write Up

The whole point of those scenarios is the cross marketing. Free League Alien players buy novels from Titan, Titan books readers may get curious about the TTRPG. Given that brand synergy, I don't see the Titan book scenarios showing up in another format other than the novels for which they were writt...

Re: What's next (after Colonial Marines Manual)?

Refreshing this thread since I just learned about Building Better World and the possible Space Trucker book. Here's another interview with Gaska back in May https://youtu.be/CpKOPT3Lgs8 talking about "Building Better Worlds" and a Space Trucker book. Found out about it on Twitter when I wa...

Re: Future licensed games?

I would love to see Free League put out a licensed Mad Max RPG. Yes, I know, MYZ is already post-apocalyptic, but something set in the Mad Max universe (with Free League's incredible art) would probably be an easier sell for my players. I'll let the company decide what system would work best for it...

Re: Marine Mission

I mean, "if you build it they will come" as someone once said over and over again in the movie Field of Dreams. I wouldn't not design a scenario that interests you because you have no one to play it with in the moment. If it maintains your interest, the design itself should be fulfilling f...

Re: In light of “One D&D” announcement, will Ruins still continue?

If I'm not mistaken Ruins layers over and swaps out bits of 5e for some Ruins setting specific rules, as do a lot of "3rd party" creators utilizing the 5e SRD. If you have 5e's core rules now, nothing will change, and from what I've seen of One D&D, there may be some mechanics you can ...
