Re: Pre-order 5E The One Ring

There has been no news about it since the official announcement which states "autumn" for the pre-order and Q1 2023 for the physical copy. If we look at how it worked with "Ruins of the Lost realm" which was just open to pre-order a few days ago and is going to be availble in sto...

Re: Free League announces The Lord of the Rings Roleplaying for 5E

I know a lot of folks won’t like this but with 5E being such a big share of the market this makes sense for Free League. Plus, it might expose people to their other games and settings. This is something I can't stand with: what is the issue of expand what FL makes for TOR to D&D 5Ed?? We are a ...

Re: Free League announces The Lord of the Rings Roleplaying for 5E

haven't looked at Adventures in Middle-earth, but generally speaking most of TOR's core thematic flavors like journeys, councils etc should be easy enough to adapt - those are basically concepts grouping skill challenges for a specific purpose. You may need to adapt used skills, stats and such but ...

Re: 5e "more information will follow in the months to come" 16 months ago

Thanks for this, godsent. Do you know if they said that they are going to adapt things like Ruins of the North Realm? Probably covered by: "And releases will be for TOR first, then converted for LotRRP.”? So Ruins of the Lost Realm on general release some time in the next few months, followed ...

Re: Free League announces The Lord of the Rings Roleplaying for 5E

When you say "fall 2022" is it more in line with your previous "in the following weeks" 2 months ago and we can expect it around september? I'm starting a new campaign end of august and I would like to know if I should wait or not on the new set of rules.

Re: 5e "more information will follow in the months to come" 16 months ago

I am keeping a track of any queries FL are responding to about the new 5e LotRRP (their abbreviation). It may help you so they don't get bombarded with stuff. Replies to queries on the following thread: https://www.facebook.com/FreeLeaguePublishing/posts/pfbid0f6kZh7sGqrp72Dg3b6ZMN2B73USTqcfBbW5jBj...

Re: 5e "more information will follow in the months to come" 16 months ago

Thank you! Do you know if we could get some more details before the pre-order? Will Ruins of the Lost Realms/ Starter Set/etc also be "adapted"? Is it going to be comptaible with the previous iteration of AIME? Thanks!

Re: 5e "more information will follow in the months to come" 16 months ago

If I were freeleague I would be waiting to see what 6e D&D was going to look like before committing that sort of work on a conversion. If it is a very simple 5.5e and they know what areas are likely changing then it is less of a risk, if it has bigger shake ups like short rests being changed it...

Re: 5e "more information will follow in the months to come" 16 months ago

Following someone's suggestion here, I wrote FL some time ago asking for some confirmation or comment. They finally answered me by saying they got no info to share sadly. I was laso hoping there would be a youtube update at the end of last month (since the last one was in march) but we haven't got t...

Re: Bicycles in The Shire??

Honestly, if they have clocks making a bicycle or anything like it is really simple comparatively. I think it's fitting that since the technology is all there, maybe some odd inventor made it some time ago but of course hobbits being fond of walking never saw the usefulness of it and it ended up qui...
