Re: Moria 5E Alpha PDF Feedback

I realize this isn't the kind of feedback you are looking for, but I think that the references to Mithril need some more consistency, or more explanation. on p14 you have said: "Since the fall of Moria, no more Mithril has been mined, except by the Orcs." Then on p168: "The Orcs dare ...

Re: Magical Success with Insite

It might even be "Why's that elf squinting at me like that?"
Yes! That one!
And if he can use the skill twice the second insight would be "Huh, he's doing it again."

Re: Journey phase with a chase.

And keep in mind that since it is the players doing the chasing, the npcs being chased have options. The orcs being chased by the three hunters did become aware of them. They chose to go faster, but they could have left a detachment behind in ambush, or split up and go different ways or could have d...

Re: New Loremaster questions (yes, open to everyone)

I ran my players through the shire adventures and then the Star of the mist from the Core book to get them to 3rd level before we did the Troll hole. You are correct, that one probably can't be done by 1st level players unless they have some NPC help.

Re: Estelang is Gurthang?

I may need to read the story again, but in one version Gurthang was crafted by a dark elf, but Estelang is Numenorian. Also, Numenor was founded in the Second age so Gurthang would predate Estelang by many centuries. It's a fun idea to have Gurthang reappear. I would lay a heavy curse on it, and it ...

Re: Where to start?

The shire adventures are a good way to get a party to 2nd and 3rd level. I tweaked the adventures quite a bit and we used our own characters instead of the pre-generated hobbits. You should consider running the Star of the Mist from the core book too; it's a nice site and requires a variety of skill...

Re: General question for switching from MERP to a free league system

As others have said, If your group has played D&D then 5e will probably be a very comfortable transition. Decades ago, my friends started playing merp because we were fed up with D&D but the 5th edition won me back. I personally like the way 5e has been adapted for LOTR and I have become a d...

Re: Barding character creation help

My 2 cents, if you are looking to justify why you would travel all the way from Dale to Eriador I can think of many good reasons. Dale folk are a prosperous trading people who are recovering from a long period of hardship when Smaug was in the lonely mountain. Now that Smaug is gone, there is opport...

Ugh, support got back to me but they sent me another link to the TOR version instead of the 5e version. I'll try again.
