Re: Alien Rules in Other Settings?

Ooh, this would work really well for XCOM (old or new) and Dead Space. I think the rules would also work great for Tremors. Just from the first film, Rhonda's obviously a Scientist, Val and Earl are Roughnecks, Melvin and Mindy are Kids, and Burt and Heather Gummer are Marines. Not sure where Nestor...

Re: Where is Lv-1201

Really, you can put it wherever you want, but assuming LV-designate bodies go in ascending numerical order, it's likely be a very recent discovery. I think AvP 2 is set a few decades after the films, which makes it odd that their still using all the exact same gear. Though that might explain the pre...

Re: Predators and Terminators, my Homebrew (with Special Guest Species)

Added two sample Terminators, a stock, fresh-off-the-lot T-800, and a T-800 character who might be encountered in an average Alien scenario.

Re: Where is Lv-1201

https://avp.fandom.com/wiki/LV-1201 Inconclusive. Since the stars it orbits aren't named, there's no way to tell which system it's in, and therefore to get a read on where it would be. Someone some time ago had figured out Ryushi, from the original Aliens vs. Predator comic, was way off the establis...

Re: Predators and Terminators, my Homebrew (with Special Guest Species)

Terminators are done except for making up some base T-800s as examples, added to Species.

Re: The Network & Interstellar Communication

Good point about the instant communication in Alien3. I think it is likely that the RealBishop & the W-Y dogcatcher team are close by at this point, since they show up at Fiorina 161 just hours later. In any case, instant communication across vast stretches of space doesn't work for me as it se...

Re: The Network & Interstellar Communication

Yes, that is the benefit of slow communication from a dramatic standpoint. Even the original Star Trek had Enterprise hours, day, or weeks away from any communication with Starfleet, so Kirk would have to deal with whatever jam he and his ship were in using his own resources and judgement. The Close...

Re: Predators and Terminators, my Homebrew (with Special Guest Species)

Added Species stuff, and new piece of human "Gear." This bears some explanation. There's a really good AVP mod for Rimworld, which sadly is no longer being developed, but still seems perfectly functional. There's a load of other mods, including several Warhammer 40k related ones. I was fid...

Re: The Network & Interstellar Communication

I don't recall reading specifics. The Aliens deleted scene is a good baseline, but a few factors to consider: One: The colony administrator might have been exaggerating or rounding. Two: The scene was deleted from the theatrical cut, like the eggmorphing scene in Alien , so future films went forward...
