Re: Selling Magical items

the easiest way to avoid the issue is, telling the players that they wouldn't get anything practical or noteworthy out of selling (mechanically and in world) as there is barely an economy in TOR other than a credit rating (aka standard of living) and that other than raising that, there wouldn't be ...

Re: Selling Magical items

I don't mind the idea of selling magic items in TOR, but I think the difficulty comes from finding buyers. Magic's extremely rare in ME and magical gear is usually a highly-valued and highly-protected thing. Even the wealthiest merchants either wouldn't have the coin to pay for it, or would be in th...

I like TOR2e more but I did play AiME and enjoyed it too, so I'm not saying this out of some kind of system elitism, but I don't think there'll be much for AiME besides a re-release. It's still very much playable and it's the same ruleset. At most I think FL might do what C7 did and convert new TOR2...

Re: Stone Giants

I made a quick statblock for a game of mine, though it was for a "Forest Giant" that lived in the Mirkwood. I don't still have it, but I balanced it around Trolls and it was obviously suicidally hard to fight, but very, very easy to outsmart and avoid. Tree trunk club, rancid hide clothes ...

Re: Ruins of the Lost Realm Beta PDF Feedback

You don't consider Melkor a Vala?
I guess he probably hadn't paid any membership dues in a while.
Good point.

Re: Ruins of the Lost Realm Beta PDF Feedback

Loving the book so far. Noticed what might be a small lore typo on page 7 (11 of the PDF.) The west coast of Middle-earth is steep and stony, with few good places to land — for twice the world has been utterly changed, westerly lands drowned by the wrath of the Valar , and now waves crash against ro...

Re: Religion

There's very little official material on it beyond some of the Elves revering the Valar as divine and other folk worshiping Melkor and/or Sauron. Middle-earth Roleplaying, an 80s RPG, has some expansions on it, mostly for Easterlings and Southrons.

Re: Flee From An Adversary

I'm thinking about homebrewing up a more detailed movement system for situations like this.

Re: Blunt Weapons / Houserule

I homebrewed up my own warhammers, greathammers, and morning stars, keeping them as Brawling weapons and giving them lower injury ratings, but more raw damage than a lot of other options. I also let hammers use the Axe skill if you've got it.
