Re: Path of Lies/Words vs. Incorruptible

I was thinking they'd know, so that works. And my players shouldn't feel targeted as I'm pretty open about NPCs and what abilities they typically have. In a world filled with Peddlers who can and would learn Path of Lies/Words, Incorruptible would be a popular ability to avoid getting screwed over d...

Path of Lies/Words vs. Incorruptible

Path of Lies/Words states that the character can roll and then decide to spend a WP to succeed, but do they know why the initial roll failed? I'm asking because if the target has Incorruptible, the initial Manipulation roll fails automatically, after which a character with Path of Lies/Words would n...

Re: Trying to make MANIPULATION harder, but not absurdly so, in line with RAW.

I think many leaders would have Incorruptible 3 so they can't be Manipulated. Then it doesn't matter if the person automatically succeeds, the target is immune.

Skill-based spellcasting

Has anyone experimented with switching the FB system to skill-based spellcasting? As a first draft, I'm considering having it cost 1 Willpower to cast a spell, and the resulting number of successes would be the spell's power level. No successes would mean the spell failed. Banes obtained while pushi...

Re: Armor roll

When something like that happens, I think of it as a defect revealed by the hit, e.g., something critical breaks, and a large section of armor falls away.

Illusion

The Illusion spell confuses me because it only affects one person, so it seems that it can't be cast ahead of time to hide since the caster doesn't know who will see the illusion. Is that the correct interpretation? Does the one person need to be within Short range when the spell is cast?

Re: Hexenwald

I was a little surprised at the powers, especially that one of them could fly, since I didn't see how the setting lent itself to that, but nothing wrong with some unique magic.

Hexenwald

The witches have some unique magic; is it something other characters could learn or steal? Or is it unique to the witches?

[Moved] Wolfshadow

I read the wolfshadow as something that possesses a host, changes the host into a nightwarg, and then finds a new host and repeats the process. Is that how others read it?

Moderator Action: Moved the thread to the GM section because any answer to this is spoiler territory.

Re: Broken Empathy

Thanks. The fact that no additional damage can be inflicted after 0 is a bit counterintuitive, but all systems have their quirks. If the published description is the only information about being broken via Empathy, I may assemble a table similar to the Critical Injury tables to determine what the ch...
