Re: How do people live?

Are there any nomadic folk in FL? I was thinking of having tribes or clans of nomadic horsemen on the plains around Ravenland. How would they have survived the Blood Mists all this time?
There might have been small groups of nomadic horsemen from Aslene in Ravenland during the Mist. I can't really expand on why without spoiling, but it would be possible. They would probably have a pannaturalistic religion, taking comfort in the belief that the blood of their volcano god Horn (ie magma) flows under all lands not far from where they are at all times. You might actually build this religion as a secteristic belief. The key is: ”our God watches over us wherever we are”.

What would stop the wolfkin from ruling the lands as they could travel with impunity, raiding villages and taking charge?
Seemingly they had no such ambition.
This makes sense. Will this be expanded on in the GM book?
Is this necessary? Animals don't have imperialistic ambitions and wolfkin idealize the animal aspects of life as opposed to civilization. They are probably content with enough local territory secured.

Something about how the different Kin responded to the mist and how they lived, or travelled or stayed put or realised ambitions during the 300 year period would certainly add some nice flavour to the game and as it has already been asked by one of my players, having the answer would be appreciated. Of course none of this needs to be available to the players.

I agree. One question that has popped up elsewhere in similar discussions is where such information shoud be presented: in a section of it's own or in the main description of each kin. Please give your view!

For me I think the main thing about the Kin description in the player guide is that it needs to explain enough about each Kin for a player to be able to get a handle on playing that character type, this will range from general background, temperament, views of other Kin and reasons why the character might have become a traveling rogue and joined a party of adventurers.

But I think a separate section in the campaign book covering history of each Kin, and Kin secrets, could then be used by the GM in play or imparted by the GM to the relevant player, to then be used to flesh out the character as the game progresses.

The Halfling secret is also something that I would put in this section as only a Halfling player might know of this.

I completely agree with lupex. Secrets are good for a sense of mystery and leave options for the GM to change things.

Thank you Brior for pulling back the curtains a bit on this topic. It is very useful stuff and interesting too.

Section of its own in the GM section. If there are questions the GM could answer them for a player but not all players would be privy to this information.
