Re: Which setting will you play in?

I'm backing the game almost exclusively for the setting, along with the interesting campaign rules presented. I'm personally not convinced the core game system from Mutant will fit a fantasy setting, since I prefer game systems with more attributes and skills. In my experience roleplaying in fantasy worlds usually requires more complexity, otherwise player characters tend to end up feeling generic. I'll give the system a go of course, and see how it feels, might be you find the sweet spot!
No worries, I'll house rule the "crap outa"* the system and share what I have here,
You share the same concerns, you are thinking long term,

My groups almost always define our own setting, or story, at the very least. I try to do mechanics strictly by the book, but create my own map and world.

Please expand on this in the Skill Opinions thread, you're bound to get lots of debate!
I'll pop in and take a look, but I don't think I want to go in and argue against the core game design. There's a wealth of other systems out there so I'm all set even if I don't like it, but what we've heard so far about the world makes me truly itch for adventuring there!

I had an idea about starting a tales from the loop game and inserting some rpg sessions for the young eighties characters to play using forbidden lands. So they play an rpg game from within an rpg game. This could work well as an alternative game if the full TftL group isn't available as it wouldn't have a direct impact on that story but I could seed some clues and information in FL adventure sites and create a new mystery around the FL game, maybe with Fria Ligan becoming some sort of shadowy organisation trying to condition 80s role players.....

Or, starting a TftL game and running through some games and then something happens where the kids end up transported to the forbidden lands as thier rpg characters and then have to find a way back to the real world or live out thier days in this strange fantasy place (this idea is based on a series of books I really like https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/310 ... ing_Dragon)

So they roleplay as thier TftL characters but with the skill sets and abilities of thier FL characters.

I'll GM the material as is, mostly. I have the highest confidence in Brior's writing skills :)
However, I am tempted to put the setting in some location not terribly far from Trachoria so that I can bend my players' minds to the fullest.

Anyone tried FL on warhammer setting yet? What things were hard to convert? Careers seems hard to do in a good way.

I would just use the rules framework of FL with the setting, I wouldn't bother trying to convert rules that are purely for use with the Warhammer rules set.

Yeah. At the most, I would maybe look into creating a few more talents to represent some of the more iconic careers. But to be honest, rat catcher is the only thing that comes to mind, and I can't think of what talent could be made for that. Maybe something about a small vicous dog ;)
And I would like to introduce some sort of sanity representation, which I would probably just base of the fear critical table, making results that are temporary permanent. Maybe a simple "roll prescence or take gain 1 insanity point. for every 5 points, roll on the fear table and that result is now permanent".
Other than that, I'd use rules as is, with the standard professions already given. They all seem pretty fitting for the setting.
Maybe download some random mutation table from the internet as well for special ocations =D

Dont forget the Barber-Surgeon :-)
You might be right about the conversions but I still feel a core bit of Warhammer is the career-tree. Maybe the careers can be used just for show and to get a hint about what the PC does for living?
A few talents I think should be added: Grudge-Born Fury, Dwarfcraft, Contortionist, Ventriloquism, Secrets Signs/Language, Lip Reading, Hypnotism and maybe Charm Animal.
