Poison on range weapons

Mon 04 Feb 2019, 10:47

Hello!
As far as i can tell there is no rule support for uaing poison on range weapons.

Poisons require the weapon they are applied to to have the "pointed" or "edged" feature. As per page 114 of the players handboon. However, there are no ranged weapons with these features. Is this intended for balance reasons, is it simply an oversight, or have I missed some rule somewhere?

If you want to be able to poison arrows / bolts in your game, it's easy enough to houserule, isn't it?

It doesn't have have the pointed feature listed because that is a feature for melee weapons (pointed weapons can stab) but arrows do have a point. At least this is how we do it.

Thanks for the replies. Of course it is easy to house rule, my question was more directed to the game designers with regard to whether this was intended or not.

In my group I will probably make the same ruling as fenhorn, mostly because it makes sense and because poisoned arrows is a cool trope.
