I see it as king kull. It is a malus for the fighter class to have a class talent which only functions when the group plays with optional combat rules. I as GM prefer rules as small as possible and would mostly prefer the simpler ones.King Kull wrote in the errata:
This talent only functions if you use the hidden combinations. This is kind of sad if you don’t use this. And you only use the combinations with the cards. Therefore you will only use it against major foes because otherwise it will increase the duration of combat. Isn’t it correct? And if I’m correct this is a talent which doesn’t get used as often as others. Doesn’t seem fair to me.
So in this case the fighter has one fewer option at the beginning and a lot of fewer options in a campaign.
I would like to see this talent as a general one (perhaps a bit modified) and an other class talent for the fighter.
