The idea is that the pride should be the last resort.
Also, it seems that it will be easy for players to declare the use of pride after the roll has succeeded, to attempt to generate additional stunts.  Is this intended?

To be certain, do Pride dice results over six add to the number of successes of the roll?

"Once per game session, you can use your Pride
(see page xx) when you have failed a skill roll."

This is expressly forbidden in the core rules.

Declare Action > GM tells you if and what you need to roll > Roll dice

If successful
                           > Push roll for additional success? > Resolve


If unsuccessful
                           > Push roll?
                                               > Yes, successful > Resolve
                                               > Yes, unsuccessful > Activate Pride? > Resolve
                                               > No, unsuccessful > Activate Pride? > Resolve
