[Genlab Alpha] Defending in ranged combat?

Tue 18 Oct 2016, 23:56

Is there any way for a character to defend themselves in Ranged Combat? There doesn't seem to be a Defense action like there is in Close Combat. Is a ranged target simply out of luck, or is there a way to dodge or similar?

No. They only defense is that you always should seek cover so you get some extra protection (any projectile will hit your cover first).

Some mutations/animal powers give the ability to avoid avoid damage.

Edit: Easily houseruled in though. Just allow the target of a ranged attack to dodge (Agility Roll) in the same manner as parry, except that you can't select anything offensive (obviously).

Thanks, Fenhorn. I'd completely forgotten about cover.
