Firing into combat

Mon 28 Aug 2017, 10:24

HI Guys,

Anyone got any ideas for rules for firing into combat?

I've hinted to my players that if the miss their target which is engaged in melee. That dark points (3?) could be spent and the friendly target could be hit (re-roll attacking dice again for effect)

Any thoughts?

You could spend DP to have an ally count as cover for the target. Roll the cover, and damage absorbed by the cover is treated as sixes on an attack targeting the friendly.

I just ruled that anyone who not only misses their attack, but who also rolls 1's on their attack dice might hit an ally in close combat with that target instead. I think I had them roll a second time using half their normal dice pool to see if they hit a friendly, or something like that. Worked fine.

Sensei you wouldn't be pirating my house rules now would you?

GordonC 3 DP sounds a little high for a miss, shooting in to a melee should be dangerous, I'd make it cost 1 DP, 2 tops,
Or you could have the GM gets 1 or 2 points for it NOT to hit the wrong target if the shot missed,
