Concussion Grenade

Tue 07 Mar 2017, 07:42

Concussion grenade has Blast Power 6, Damage 1, Crit 2 for 600 birr where the Frag grenade has Blast Power 6, Damage 2 and Crit 1 for 500 birr.

Thye both have the same radius and I can`t think of any mechanical reason why anyone would get a more expensive concussion grenade over the the superior frag grenade.

Is this an oversight or am I missing something?

If they had Concussion as Damage 2 Crit 2 and Frag as Damage 1 and Crit 1, you'd be choosing between knockout power vs wounding power at least.

Good pick up. And yeah, I would go with Concussion doing more hp damage given how the system works, but less likely for a crit.

Good point. The concussion grenade should have damage 2 (we will update this in the PDF). They are less deadly than frag grenades - this is also the point, concussion grenades are not meant to kill.

Just swap those prices. Concussion grenade is a normal explosion damage, and frag grenade is a normal shrapnel damage (see p. 98) -- it's better to let it be.

I checked the coriolis_rulebook_ENG_digital_181216.pdf (which I think is the newest one there is) and the damage for concussion grenade is still 1.
Edit: that quote is 2 years old.. I wonder if there are any plans to publish any errata. Things like that (change a number) are so easy to do that I have really hard time to understand why these are not fixed.
